So hiring a white person with a criminal record is more desirable than hiring a Black person without one? Never would’ve guessed…

white privilege is a motherfucker

Guys come on! They’re just taking preventative measures. Sooner or later a black person is going to have a criminal record so they might as well not even hire them! /s

This is sarcasm right ?

The Illuminator projected this near the Brooklyn Bridge in solidarity with the people of Ferguson.

I love how the photographer captured the freedom tower next to the visual. And I love how they chose a building that would make this all come together perfectly.

i need ferguson to go down in history books. i need school children in the year 2074 to learn about michael brown being shot on august 9th, 2014 by officer darren wilson. i need this to spark a movement. this can not lose the focus of society a mere month after it happened.

Enforcement Officials Beat & Kidnap a 12-yo Black Girl in Front of her Residence, Claiming She Was a Prostitute
"When her mother and father came outside after hearing her cries for help she was desperately holding a tree with one arm while plainclothes officers were beating her in the head, neck and throat.
Dymond Milburn, now 20-years-old, was an honor student attending advanced classes at Austin Middle School, when her life would be forever scarred by Galveston police.”
None of the enforcement officials who terrorized and beat Milburn were penalized.

officers were beating her in the head, neck and throat.
they were literally trying to kill her. this is a little girl. what the fuck.

Even better:After hung jury, girl won’t be retried in police assault case (2009)
"Five of the six jurors refused to vote to convict Milburn of felony assault, said defense attorney Anthony Griffin and Assistant District Attorney Veronique Cantrell-Avloes.
An earlier attempt to try the case also ended in a mistrial after a witness made an improper statement in front of the jury.”
They tried to beat a young girl’s head in, and then charged her with felony assault on one of the officers. And there was at least one asshole juror who wanted to convict her at a retrial.

This and the terrible Daniele Watts incident with the LAPD this weekend are just two of many, many examples of how black women’s bodies are aggressively sexualized. BTW, in that article, it says police were looking for three WHITE prostitutes who had been reported in the area. Once again, police brutality is justified even though their victim didn’t fit the profile they were looking for.
The officers - Gilbert Gomez, David Roark, and Sean Stewart — were in plainclothes and got out of an unmarked car and told her she was under arrest, and then made her go to trial twice for charges of “assaulting an officer” and “resisting arrest” when she didn’t eagerly jump into a car full of strange men. They beat her so severely she had to be hospitalized, and then they claimed her injuries were from the tree she was holding on to to prevent them from dragging her out of her own front yard.
